Measuring excellence: Meeting the challenges of proposed changes to sector

This event is in the past. Presentations and Twitter highlights may be viewed here.

This one-day conference anticipates the far-reaching changes to the HE sector first proposed in November, including the Teaching Excellence Framework (http://www.sconul.ac.uk/news/higher-education-green-paper-0). Keynote speakers will look broadly at what changes are likely to occur, and the impact those changes will have on Higher Education. A range of leaders in the sector will debate how excellence, both in research and teaching, will be measured. Parallel sessions will look at the unique and strategic role of professional services in delivering high-quality teaching and how professional recognition (through bodies like the HEA) may impact the way librarians are seen in their institutions and in the sector more widely. There will be an opportunity for delegates to provide views on how SCONUL should respond to the TEF technical consultation.
