Calling for volunteers to lead SCONUL's next Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff and allies Forum - Thu, 3 Nov 2022

SCONUL, the professional association for academic and research libraries,  is seeking volunteers to lead the development and delivery of its next  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff and allies Forum.

The Forum aims to be a safe space for BAME library and information professionals to exchange information about careers and key issues in the academic library and information sector, as well as network to develop sustainable support systems.  The first Forum meeting was held online in February 2021 and was open to all BAME staff working at SCONUL member institutions. The second meeting in September 2021 was also open to allies to attend (https://www.sconul.ac.uk/event/sconul-bame-forum).  The most recent meeting was held under the auspices of Academic Libraries North in June of this year.

The next meeting will be open to allies as well as to all BAME staff at SCONUL libraries and we are seeking staff from SCONUL member institutions to join a task and finish group to lead on development and delivery of the next Forum meeting with administrative support from the SCONUL office.
